Bald Eagle Can’t Move Out Of Road. Then Cops Gets Closer, Realize Why She Refuses To Move
There isn’t much we wouldn’t do to protect a bald eagle. As the symbol of our country, we must do everything in our power to keep these powerful birds of prey thriving after they have already faced the possibility of extinction. Therefore, it was an intense situation when a bald eagle was hit by a car in Clearwater, Florida.
The authorities said that the bird must have been feeding on some roadkill in the middle of the road when it was struck. Unable to fly away, the majestic creature was stranded. So the police officers surrounded the eagle and did everything in their power to get it back in the sky.
When bald eagles faced extinction back in the 1950s due to negligent pesticide use, we feared that the very symbol of America would be killed off. Thanks to the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act of 1940 these beautiful birds have been able to recover from endangerment. It wasn’t until 2005 that they were officially off “threatened” status.
Needless to say, these birds need all the protection they can get! The officers blocked off two lanes of traffic to protect the eagle from further injury and waiting for help to come. Along with the rescuers, the eagle was safely captured and taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
